The Present

Well connected by road, rail and air, Siliguri is an important node for all surface communications in the region. With sufficient power and water supply, modern telecom facilities, postal services, reputed schools and colleges, well developed health and medicare facilities and a large number of luxury hotels and restaurants. Siliguri attracts tourists, businessmen, and traders. Quite naturally.

The Future

To fight traffic congestion, the Municipal authorities have set up a truck terminus at Phulbari. More recently, the Government of India has decided to convert Bagdogra to an international airport. This, of course, is good news for the tourism industry in and around Siliguri.
